About The Dark Side of Whimsy’s Muse

For more than 35 years, photography has been our passion and our calling. From the days of working with Olan Mills Studios and their church division, to the magic we’ve created through Whimsy’s Muse, our journey has always been about capturing the soul of a moment.

In 2004, that passion gave life to Whimsy’s Muse at the Texas Renaissance Festival — a place where light, fantasy, and fairytales bloom. For decades, hundreds of fae, young and old, have stepped into our storybook gardens, donning wings and crowns to become part of a world filled with enchantment.

But every fairytale has its shadows.

That is where our Gothic Photography begins — the darker sister of Whimsy’s Muse. While Whimsy’s Muse celebrates the light, our gothic work embraces the beauty in darkness: moody portraits, haunting elegance, and moments that feel timeless and raw.
